Jennifer Birkhofer is an artist currently based in the Twin Cities in Minnesota, having earned her BA in Studio Arts from the College of Saint Benedict. Her artwork has received recognition and awards throughout Central and Southern Minnesota.

Artist Statement:

​

Encouraged and guided by my talented mother from a young age, I developed my artistic abilities and today I work with oil paints, acrylic paints, graphite, digital photography, pastels, printmaking, book art, card making, and graphic design.

​

With photography, I enjoy the idea of capturing a specific moment in time, as it may be beautiful, emotional, thought-provoking, or strange.

​

When printmaking, I enjoy having the character of the woodblock leave its own impact on my final product. I strive to get to the essence of one's mystery.

In a recent series of paintings I focused on self-identity and representing the experiences that have impacted who I am today. Currently I have been exploring the interaction of color and line in abstract works.
